The Beauty of Letterpress

Happy to find out that three of my posters were chosen by Robynne Raye (Modern Dog, Seattle) for the Beauty of Letterpress, Issue Seven. She highlighted the Bicycle Thieves poster and said, "Conceptually this is brilliant - one of my favorite pieces from the entire group, and a cool way to use process."  #blushing!

This takes me back to the dirt track.

My Dad used to take me dirt biking when I was a little girl. I remember having a helmet just like this one. I wish I still had this rad mod box it must have been packaged in.

Equipment Sales.

Another Billings Antique Mall "find".

Type with Flare.

Found this oil can at a Billings antique mall. I like everything about this package except the typeface choice for "penetrating oil". Everything else is pretty cool, though.

Hyper kerning

I found this VERY tightly kerned book cover at a flea market in Milan last summer. Just found the image on my phone and thought it was worth posting.

Explosive package.

Major uses of potassium nitrate or "salt petre" are in fertilizers, rocket propellants and fireworks. I just like the quirkiness of the label design for such a potent product. Although the Y in Quality looks like it is trying a bit too hard. Found on eBay.

Spirograph, elevated.

Remember Spirographs? I found a fairly pristine set at a garage sale recently, but these are made by someone who is inspired by Spirographs, but has taken the math to a new level. Check out the rest: http://www.eddaardvark.co.uk/python_patterns/spirograph.html
